Can be done through a browser, but there are programs that exist with useful features that are more practical. c) URL = Universal Resource Locater / The address of a webpage. d) DSL = Digital Subscriber Line / Broadband service using telephone lines, which allows constant connection, and usually very fast speeds. Since I'm starting to hate my cable broadband provider, I have seriously been considering switching to DSL. e) PDF = Portable Document Format / Proprietary software created by Adobe, useful for transmitting exact images or information (such as pages from a book or manual). Usually used as a plug-in for IE. f) ISP = Internet Service Provider / The service one uses to connect to the Internet. Good = fast broadband. Bad = dial-up or anything associated with AOL.
