Disney's Beauty and the Beast
Disney's
lushly romantic version of Beauty and the Beast is, in my opinion, one
of their best animated films. The interaction between Belle and the Beast
is a pleasure to watch, and the music composed by Alan Menken and Howard
Ashman is a Disney rarity--neither boring, nor annoyingly sweet. The story
itself, although it differs somewhat from the original fairy tale, does
not suffer from these changes, and is interesting enough to keep even
adults interested.
There have been a few sequels to this movie since
1991, but I choose not to include them on this site, as they are only
loosely related to the Beauty and the Beast fairy tale.
The following list is by no means comprehensive--there
are dozens and dozens of Disney B&B sites out there. I included the
ones that had the most info or had other things of interest.
